Ipoh To Sitiawan Day Tour

Less than 2 hours’ drive from Ipoh is a quaint town that has its own unique story. Mainly because of its residents, who are descendants of Foochow (Fuzhou) settlers of Christian faith who made Sitiawan their home about 100 years ago.

Morning

  • 8am – This is when we will pick you up from your hotel in Ipoh. It is good to start early so that you can explore the town before the midday heat sets in.
  • Note: Since it is a long drive, we recommend that you have breakfast on your own before the drive.
  • 9.30am – First stop, the majestic Tua Pek Kong Temple with its seafront location (it faces the Malacca Strait). If it is a Sunday, this location will be swapped with Mr. Honey Bees Farm.
  • 10.30am – Admire the colorful murals along Lorong Budaya Setia Kawan while learning some culture and history of the town.
  • 11.30am – Join the queue for the famous Sitiawan Cheong Cia Gong Pian (Closed on Sundays)

Afternoon

  • 12pm – For air-conditioned options, we recommend YIHO Bakehouse or Moh Kee Coffee House for lunch.
  • 1pm – Learn all there is to know about the Foochow community and their influence on the town at Sitiawan Settlement Museum (air-conditioned)
  • 2.30pm – Get some cool dessert at the on-site museum café, Two Good Elephants Café (only opened on weekends)
  • 3.30pm – Learn about bees at Mr. Honey Bees Farm (honey harvesting is only on Sundays)
  • 4pm – Head back to Ipoh
  • 5.30pm – Drop off at your hotel in Ipoh
